Message from the Headteacher

I am both proud and privileged to lead Tregolls, an Academy, having been appointed as Headteacher in Spring 2019. Tregolls has served its close-knit community for many years; a thriving community committed to working with the school to ensure our children are happy, safe and flourish.  In recent years, the school has grown and continues to do so, it is now well on the way to becoming a full 2 form entry primary school, with an excellent reputation locally and nationally. We are delighted to welcome children from all over our wonderful city of Truro and surrounding villages. Our children experience excellent teaching, an engaging and challenging curriculum, a caring and nurturing environment and leave us in year 6 with a boundless love for learning. None of this is possible without the strong partnership between parents and school, which provides the potential for every child to succeed, to excel and to let their own personal light shine.

When I first walked into Tregolls I could feel the passion and commitment from all those within it to make it a brilliant school… at every level, every staff member had the same goal: to care for, nurture and teach great things to the children. To enable them to be astonishing.

“Pupils are happy and proud to be a part of Tregolls School” Ofsted 2018

As a teacher and a leader, I am passionate about educating the whole child; ensuring our children develop a sense of empathy and understanding for others, a love for the arts, a rigorous academic understanding and – most importantly – are fully prepared for the world they will grow up in. The world our children will be living and working in will begin to look quite different from the one we ourselves were introduced to and we must ensure the education we provide meets those needs, including a meaningful understanding of technology alongside creativity. We have a responsibility to nurture an understanding of the wider world, the issues we face as a global community, how each and every one of us can make a difference and build a brighter future for generations to come.

One of our main priorities is to ensure that our children are safe and we will work proactively with the children, their families and other agencies to share a collective responsibility. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and will expect all staff, parents and volunteers to share this commitment.

I look forward to welcoming you to Tregolls School, please do come and have a look around.

Mrs Lara Jeffries, Headteacher.
