Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope you have all enjoyed the long summer break and that your children are feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges of the year ahead.
Most subjects are now taught through a cross-curricular topic. This term’s topic is about New Beginnings/ Every child matters. As part of this topic your child will be designing a classroom within a shoe box, I would be grateful if you could send a shoe box to school by Thursday 17th September.
Most weeks’ homework will be set for Maths and English and sometimes Science. This is usually given on a Friday to be returned on a Tuesday. They will also be given a list of spellings and times tables to learn for a test every Friday. I would be very grateful if you could support your children with their homework but also encourage them to come and speak to me if they are struggling. If there is a reason why your child cannot complete their homework, please write me a quick note to avoid any unnecessary reprimand.
P.E will take place on Thursday and Fridays so please ensure your child brings their kit (including footwear and suitable jumper for the winter months) on these days. Please write me a quick note if there is any reason why your child cannot partake as, without a note, I will have to assume they are fit and well and ready to join in.
I really do want your child to enjoy their time in Tamar Class. If there is anything preventing this then please do not hesitate to make an appointment to come and see me.
Thank you for your support,
Mr Varney |
