TRLC Games

Lisa Butterly Sports News

On Thursday we had a great day at Truro College attending the TRLC Games, this event has been organised by Mr Middlemore for a number of years to provide a fun competitive sporting arena for children who may not have had as much experience of this before. The superb sports leaders from Penair and Richard Lander ran the day, scoring events, umpiring games and encouraging our children.

The day started off with Quadkids Athletics events which involved a Sprint, Standing Long Jump, Howler Throw and a 600m Run. All of the scores for each event were added together to get a team score. Well done to Oscar who had a fantastic throw with the Howler reaching around 27m. In the Sprint Damien showed us how it should be done smashing out a great run. Lily, Victoria and Autumn showed good technique in the standing long jump and Kisha showed real resillience to complete the 600m.

The children worked hard all day to get good scores at all the activities. They had fun playing handball and goals were scored by Charlie, Oscar and Kyle supported well by Lewis and Damien.  On the other team Josh and Sayf played well helping to defend and win the ball back for our team. On the rounders throwing station Codie, Seth, Macy and Tyler showed great speed and control to accumulate a high score. Sree demonstrated to everyone how hoola hooping should be done, keeping it moving for the longest impressing the sports leaders with her style.

Once all the scores had been added together Tregolls finished in joint second and eighth place. Well done to everyone for their hard work and great team work. Also thank you to Mrs Caruana for her support throughout the day and Mr Middlemore for creating this fun event for all the schools to attend.
